After a cursory perusal of comments here, It seems to me that there is significant risk to anyone drinking alcohol, even moderately or lightly, and taking chantix.
I am a recovering alcoholic, 5 years sober.
I am considering chantix to quit smoking, but now wonder if these (rare) severe psychotic side effects are linked to the presence of tetrahydroisoquinoline (THQ) in the brain of a drinker. Even five years sober, I’m sure that I still have this alcoholic “calling card” present in my brain.
