If you could remember, 3 or 5 years ago, e-cigarettes look so uncommon and you seldom see them in public. But now, you see them almost everywhere. You see them in malls, in coffee shops, even in movie theaters! And mind you, even in planes, people use electronic cigarettes. It has given smokers the power to bring their habit in places where it is supposed to be prohibited.

The e-cigarette industry is now worth billions of dollars worldwide, beating the whole stop-smoking industry (e.g. patches, gum, and other quit smoking drugs). But unlike quit smoking products that are sold in pharmacies, bigstock-beauty-girl-indoors-with-e-cig-33018023e-cigarette manufacturers never, and will ever make a single claim that these new breed of cigarettes will cure nicotine addiction. The least they would claim is – it is safer than regular cigarettes. But it is never about the safety, right? It is about the dangers of smoking. And e-cigarette companies will always evade this fact and will keep these things from the public. So before you get fooled, below are 5 facts e-cigarette companies want to keep for themselves.

E-Cigarette Companies are Tobacco Companies in Disguise

When e-cigarettes were first introduced in the market 5 years ago, it appeared to be a great threat to the traditional tobacco industry. These battery-powered sticks, which turn liquid nicotine into an odorless vapor, promised the public of a less harmful alternative to traditional cigarettes, and because they were not subject to heavy taxes – they are a lot cheaper. Because of this, smokers and non-smokers alike were easily encouraged and switched unsuspectingly to e-cigarettes as evidenced by the rise in sale hitting 2 billion dollars by 2013 or 3 times their sales last year and expected to surpass the traditional tobacco industry within just a decade. What is unknown to the public, 3 of the largest tobacco companies, have already been venturing in e-cigarettes. This explains their lack of

Manufacturers of electronic cigarettes won’t ever tell you that they are selling a product that is similar to regular tobacco. Not only because it has earned the reputation of being an ‘alternative’ to smoking but more importantly because being categorized as ‘regular cigarettes’ would make these electronic devices a subject of similar policy restrictions.

effort to battle the rising popularity of what is supposed to be a threat to the industry.

E-Cigarettes Can Still Kill You

Many anti-smoking advocates and health officials acknowledge that e-cigarettes indeed have lesser toxins compared to regular cigarettes and that they contain no tar. But this does not guarantee that you’ll not die from cancer or coronary related diseases. E-cigarette manufacturers can only tell that it is “less harmful”.

E-Cigarettes may not be a Good Way to Quit Smoking

You might have heard that e-cigarette is an FDA-approved smoking cessation product which makes it more appealing to smokers who want to quit. But on the contrary, it is not approved by the FDA. E-cigarettes still uses nicotine, this means it still feeds your body with nicotine – PURE nicotine. Well, nicotine is nicotine and it produces similar effects to the body, regardless if you smoke it, chew it, inject it, attach it on your skin, etc.

E-Cigarette Manufacturers are Taking Advantage of the Lack of Regulation

E-cigarette brands are now estimated to reach 250 which are sold locally and online and all these products are not being regulated by the government. You see them in advertisements and in movies which regular cigarette brands are prohibited to do. This gives them the freehand to bolster their campaign. Though they welcome regulations, it doesn’t change the fact that the same addiction is still prevalent.

E-Cigarettes are the same as Regular Cigarettes

Manufacturers of electronic cigarettes won’t ever tell you that they are selling a product that is similar to regular tobacco. Not only because it has earned the reputation of being an ‘alternative’ to smoking but more importantly because being categorized as ‘regular cigarettes’ would make these electronic devices a subject of similar policy restrictions.

Electronic cigarettes are no better than regular tobacco. They can still be addictive and harmful to your health. So don’t think that e-cigarettes are going to help you quit or will save you from chronic diseases that smoking brings. They are all the same. If you want to free yourself from the dangers of cigarettes, quit. Just quit.
