Quit Smoking – Using Wellbutrin or Zyban (Bupropion) to Quit

Bupropion is a quit smoking pill approved by the FDA. It is the first of the non-nicotine replacement therapy pills approved by the FDA. The second being Chantix (varenicline).  Bupropion is available as Zyban. The same drug is used as an antidepressant and marketed under the name Wellbutrin. Zyban may be used for up to six months to quit smoking and it can also be used with medications that do contain nicotine like "the patch."
