Staying Cigarette-Free for 15 Years Lowers the Risk of Heart Failure and Premature Death the Same as Non-Smokers, Study Says
People who quit smoking for 15 years significantly lower their risk of heart failure, new study suggests. Researchers have discovered that smokers who ditched the habit 15 years ago had the same risk as those non-smokers or those who never smoked.
New research warned smokers of the increased risk of dying from cancer of the prostate even after quitting. Smokers who continued smoking after being diagnosed of prostate cancer are more likely not to survive treatment. And even those who quit still carries the risks for the next 10 years.
