Some would describe me as Chantix crazy. But let me tell you what is really crazy.-
- Crazy is knowing that around 5.4 million deaths a year are cause by tobacco and not doing anything about it. That is crazy!
- Crazy is knowing that smoking is estimated to kill 6.5 million people in 2015 and another 8.3 million humans in 2030 and not trying to do anything to stop it. Now that is crazy!
- Crazy is knowing that the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that every 6.5 seconds a current or former smokers dies and not trying to lift a finger to help at least one of them survive. Crazy, crazy, crazy!
- Crazy is knowing that 443,000 people in the U.S. die each year because of smoking and that another 50,000 die due to second-hand smoke. In other words, knowing that about half a million Americans will not live to see their next birthday and knowing that a life-saving-pill existed and NOT saying anything about it. Ridiculously out-of-your-G.D.-mind!
However, if you knew that Chantix could spare these lives and you wrote a blog for the world to know it. Would doing this mean that you should be admitted to an insane asylum? No not at all. As a matter of fact you would be clearly sane. Chantix sane!
I also have a selfish reason to rid the world of smoking, my young daughter whom I love dearly. And in my efforts to provide for her and make her world a safer place, let’s just say that I wear a size X-L straight jacket. 🙂
