And don’t underestimate the benefits of quitting at this stage in your life. It can significantly cut your risk of developing serious health problems and extend your life for many years.

As you age and as your immune system weakens, you become more at risk of different diseases, from simple cold and flu to more serious ones such as cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), heart disease, and so on.
